What does femininity mean to you?
Fierce.
Elegant.
Authentic.
I’ve always been fascinated with images of powerful female figures who seem to ooze confident, effortless swag.
Confidence is undeniable presence. That “thing” people notice.
When I personally think of a woman’s confidence, femininity also plays a part.
I’m not talking about the social constructs and restraints behind the idea of femininity. No one should define what it means to us. We define it for ourselves individually.
When clients bring up femininity and image, we talk about embracing the things that make us unique as women, and expressing it how we choose, that feels authentic to us. Some clients struggle expressing their femininity. Why? They don’t want to seem “too sexy” or “not as smart” or as “powerful”, in a room full of men in a professional environment.
When it comes down to it, it’s about owning your image, and expressing who you are, in whatever form that may be.
In honor of Women’s Month, I wanted to highlight female founder, Ava Ghiotti. Ava is Founder and Creative Designer behind bespoke candles, Merchants of Beauty.
I found one of her candles in particular to be a beautiful expression of owning femininity, The LaDonna (the woman in Italian.)
